Java Class file format annotation specification?

I am reading the second version of the Java Virtual Machine Specification for Java 6. But I have not found the annotation details for the Java Class file format. Although jvm 6 can recognize annotation. another question there is also how other pens like the ACC_BRIDGE flag are not mentioned in the Virtual Machine Specification second edtion but appeared in the Java 7 Virtual Machine Specification. Tell me why? these features seem to agree with JVM 6 But why is it not in java 6 spec. What am I missing?

All internal components of the JVM are documented in the JVM specification and related updates:

  • JVM Specification for Java prior to version 5
  • Java 5 VM Specification Updates
  • Specification Updates for the Java 6 Virtual Machine

More specifically, the ACC_BRIDGE flag was introduced in Java 5. See section 4.7 for the updated class file format .
