Accessing the IIS website from a mobile phone that connects via a USB cable directly to the Windows machine

You may find this question very strange, but we have all kinds of windows and mobile phone apps these days. Although googling it didn't help but I thought someone knew the answer.

Is it possible to access the hosted IIS website on a mobile phone. The mobile phone connects to a Windows device via a USB cable. If possible, what is this procedure.

The IIS website is written in asp.net mvc 4 beta with C #. Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi on the network, so connecting to a Windows machine via Wi-Fi is out of the question. I am the administrator of my Windows machine. At the moment it is also not possible to host a website on a server and make it available over the Internet. My phone is the latest android.

In simple words, I have a website hosted in IIS and the phone is connected to the machine via usb and I want to view the website from my phone.

Some ideas from the head:

  • If your mobile phone has Internet access and you can access your network router (or you can ask your administrator to do it for you), you can simply forward the port to your computer and connect from the Internet to the router using the appropriate port. For details, see the manual for your router.
  • You can also buy a cheap usb wifi dongle that you can use with your pc how to set up a direct phone connection.
  • Depending on the OS of your cell phone, you can actually share your internet access (perhaps at the same time sharing your access to your local PC) using third party software and some hacks - this one is for Android, but it requires an embedded http OS : //www.howtogeek.com/117118/how-to-connect-your-android-to-your-pcs-internet-connection-over-usb/

Good luck! :-)
