How does minecraft store its music files?

Where are the music files that are played in Minecraft saved in the latter minecraft.jar

?

Simply removing the jar file in a zip file, shows no audio, only .class

, .png

, .txt

, .lang

and one .bin

file for the font glyphs.

How does Minecraft encrypt audio files?

The audio files come from here , which is just an XML file. They are not encrypted and the client downloads them as needed. Don't do anything naughty and read the Minecraft Marketing Guide which discusses third-party uses of these resources.
