VB code to close open subfolders in Outlook

Outlook has a habit of opening subfolders if the email was sent automatically (via rules). It is not possible to disable this feature.

Does anyone have any ideas for some code that periodically (say every 30 seconds) automatically collapses all subfolders inside, say, the Sent Items folder?

thank

The Outlook Object Model does not provide anything for collapsing folders in the navigation pane.

Running Outlook in all spread / extension folders indicates the following:

To keep your inbox from dropping even when you send a new message, make sure that your Inbox and other folders that receive email (for example, by rule) have been added to the Favorites list.
