How to enable pre-registration for an app in GooglePlay

GooglePlay has an app function with pre-registration function. I have found many announcements with this news, but I cannot find instructions on how to do it. Does anyone know how to do this?

I can't find any website information on how to activate it, and I went through my developer console, in both published and unpublished apps, looking for some kind of magic "pre-register" button. Can't find anything.

I feel like this is a tool / feature that is pretty much unique to the new Terminator app (at least for now). I would suggest that if it were open to everyone, the possibility arises that the Play Store could fill hundreds of apps that haven't actually been released yet, and could end up never being like that. It won't be great for the store, making it difficult to find downloadable apps.

So we'll see, but I doubt this will be an option open to every developer out there.

To make your app or game available for pre-registration, you select the countries where you want users to be able to pre-register. Here's how:

  1. Log into your game console.
  2. Select an app or game
  3. In the left menu, select Release Management> Application Releases.
  4. In the "Pre-register" section, click "Manage".
  5. Under Manage Pre-Registration Countries, select Pre-Registration next to the countries where you want to use Pre-Registration.
  6. Click Save.
