How to get font and graphics of column header in JTable

I am trying to get the graphics and font of a column header in a JTable. For this I use the code

Graphics g = myTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(i).getGraphics();
Font f = myTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(i).getFont();

      

However, this cannot find the symbol error Can't find symbol error

The code that is causing the errors is in a for loop inside a method called setMinPrefMax()

I managed to achieve the desired result which was to determine the minimum column width by the size of the columnn header. I have achieved this using this code.

TableColumn extends Object ... This is a model object, not a graphic one.



The reality is that the font / graphics stuff is all done in the JTable's TableCellRenderer. So if you are using a custom one you can look in this class. Otherwise, you will need to look into the swing source code (src.zip)
