Can you view related server properties in MS SQL Server Management Studio without failing to server?

Why would you need to delete the linked server before you can make changes to the server? Why can't you view the properties of the server i.e. username permissions etc.? Is it practical to ditch the table first before she can modify it and make changes? Can drop and create be used to get the properties of a linked server or remove settings? Is there a SQL command to view the properties of a linked server?

Yes, you can view the properties of linked servers, and you can make changes in tabs # 2 and # 3. The first tab cannot be changed, IE: server type and name.

To see the linked servers in MSSMS, look under Server Objects, Linked Servers, then right-click the linked server and select properties.
