Wrapping a web project in a solution file and CVS

Perhaps this might be the dumbest question ever asked. Our client wants us to have a solution file (one .sln and .suo) neatly placed in 1 directory above the actual web project. And we don't even have a web project file, it's just a website setup in IIS that we open from Visual Studio (if it matters in 2008) by clicking on File -> Open Website and browsing the root directory (c: \ src \ clientname \ src \ web \ is the choice, not mine).

Now, how would I wrap this existing web project without the project file in a new empty solution located in the c: \ src \ clientname \ src \ directory?

I love .Net, but sometimes the configurations wrap me up ...

It should be as simple as opening your website folder, File> Save As, and choosing where you want the SLN file to sit. The SLN file does not have to be specific to the site itself.
