Dwr cometary approach

from http://directwebremoting.org/dwr/reverse-ajax/index.html , he stated that he supports polling, comet, piggyback. does this mean, when we implement this approach, we can change these 3 options in the configuration without changing the codes? what makes dwr different from atmosphere api? dwr can be used in all j2ee containers too?

I have used both,

When choosing an atmosphere, you have to prepare client-side codes, do some serious flow control and data serialization.



There are fewer server options on the DWR side. :(

No new version for DWR in the last 9 months .. :(
