Which open source search engine should you use?

My goal is to build a blog news and feed aggregator to make finding / tracking entitites on it easy. I have looked at many solutions like Terrier, Luzen, SWISH-E, etc.

Basically, I could only find 2 sources of comparative studies done on these engines and one of them is a little out of date. Basically I want a search engine to be used when the data size is not too large, but the indexing is frequent, every 30 minutes or so. I feel that the Terrier is not a good tool to use in this case. It works best when the data size is large and the refresh rate is low. Can anyone who has worked in the information search field provide any advice?

Lucene is well known and supported, so personally, this would be my first choice.

If you find a ready-to-use search engine check out fastcatsearch.

It was developed for commercial search and applies to many different sites.

Faster than lucene and web site manager can be used easily.

Host on github and check it out. https://github.com/fastcatgroup/fastcatsearch
