Testing SharePoint sites

I started working on sharepoint . Apart from playing with development sites in the office, I would also like to study at home. I don't have a MOSS 2007 or Windows 2003 server to install MOSS. Are there any public sharepoint sites (free or registered) where I can build and test sites?

You can install MOSS or WSS (base package) on Vista or Windows 7 but it is not officially supported, however it works fine with IMO.

and download the 180-day trial of WSS 3.0:

Also, remember that most of the technology in WSS is built on plain ASP.NET 2.0 (things like web pages work pretty much the same)

Microsoft provides Virtual Labs , which will hopefully suffice. Also, tests and virtual machines that the others mentioned above are the only way.

MOSS licensing costs (especially for public websites), server capacity, and database storage. So not many companies are interested in providing a free test bed, in fact only Microsoft.
