ExpressionEngine (CMS) with SQLite

Has anyone out there hacked ExpressionEngine (CMS) to work with SQLite? If so, any helpful tips or guides on how to do this?

I am not aware of any Expression Engine 1.6 that has been modified to support SQLite; however the next version (2.0) is based on the CodeIgniter framework, which has a DAL that supports many databases. Here is a post from an Ellis Labs employee confirming this.

Considering that this proprietary software is copyrighted and not available (as far as I can tell) under an F / OSS license, tightly coupled to MySQL (no other supported dbs are supported and you cannot run MySQL in strict mode, which means they rely on non-standard extensions). I don't think you will find what you are looking for.

Even if someone did it for their own use, it would look very awful like a derivative work (although I suppose you could try to claim it was a parody) and distributing it would be copyright infringement.

Why don't you contact the seller and offer to shell out some $$? Or look at an alternative to F / OSS? There are (* cough *) several of them in there.
